The concept of silence in music applied to painting

The series of paintings, oil on canvas, created during 2020/21, stylistically navigates the sphere of abstract expressionism and informel, with perhaps a "neo" prefix. These are abstract canvases, mostly anti-screen, vertical formats. Each canvas stands as an autonomous entity yet simultaneously acts as a segment of a kaleidoscope—a wall installation where their mutual interaction and collective appeal to the observer are of great significance. This series serves as a tribute to Gerhard Richter, particularly to his 2006 "Cage" cycle, whose dual title refers both to a cage and to John Cage, the musician and one of the leading figures of the postwar avant-garde, who explored the concept of silence in music.
